What makes Restylane® Defyne unique?

Like other members of the Restylane® family of products, Restylane® Defyne is made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance present in the skin. The difference between Restylane® injectables is in the particle size. Restylane® Defyne uses an innovative cross-linking technology to develop particles with the durability necessary to effectively provide volume in the nasolabial folds, but also the softness to maintain natural expressions.

What can Restylane® Defyne be used for?

This product is designed for use in the nasolabial folds. When injected into this area, it softens the appearance of the grooves, creating a rejuvenated look.

What is it like to have a Restylane® Defyne injection?

This product is formulated with the local anesthetic lidocaine, which numbs the area to make the process more comfortable. After cleaning the treatment area, the product will be injected. The area may then be massaged to ensure that the product placement is exactly as desired. The entire process takes less than an hour.

Is there any downtime?

There is very little downtime associated with injection of Restylane® Defyne. We recommend that you avoid pressing on the treatment area for about six hours after the injection. Some people experience some swelling and bruising around the area, but this is temporary and will resolve quickly. Even if this happens, you’ll still be able to continue your normal daily activities. We do recommend scheduling treatment at least two weeks before a wedding or other big event, to give any possible swelling time to resolve.
