Juvéderm® Volbella XC

Juvéderm® Volbella XC Scottsdale: An injectable specifically formulated for the delicate areas around the mouth and eyes

Some of the common signs of aging include fine lines around the mouth and eyes (the “crow’s feet”). Many people also experience age-related loss of volume in the lips, which can be very difficult to hide with makeup.

To restore a smooth appearance to the area around the eyes, there are a few different options. One is to have a blepharoplasty, commonly known as an eyelid lift. Similarly, for loss of volume in the lips, surgical lip advancement can be performed. However, surgery isn’t for everyone, and many people prefer a non-surgical solution. For these patients, there’s Juvéderm® Volbella XC.

What is Juvéderm® Volbella XC?

Juvéderm® Volbella XC is FDA-approved specifically for treating wrinkles around the mouth and for lip augmentation. Juvéderm® Volbella XC is a hyaluronic acid product. Hyaluronic acid, or HA, is a small molecule that’s naturally present in your skin and other tissues. It helps maintain volume by holding moisture. When injected under the skin or into deeper tissues, HA is able to add volume to the area. The effect can last for months or even years before another injection is needed.

How is Juvéderm® Volbella XC different from other forms of Juvéderm®?

In the past few years, the technology behind these injectable hyaluronic acid products has advanced, and several new fillers have become available. These include Juvéderm® Voluma, Vollure, and Volbella. All three are hyaluronic acid products, and they use a proprietary technology for creating chemical cross-links between the HA units, to help the effects of injection last longer. The difference between these three lies in the thickness of the product.

Juvéderm® Volbella XC is the thinnest of these three products, with smaller particles. It’s able to spread a little easier, to allow it to fill in smaller lines and wrinkles. This makes Juvéderm® Volbella XC perfect for injection into more delicate areas, such as the areas around the mouth and the eyes.

What is the procedure for getting Juvéderm® Volbella XC?

The process for injecting a filler requires only one appointment with Dr. Caniglia. He will examine your face and determine which product(s) would work best for your specific situation, and how much Juvéderm® Volbella XC is needed to achieve the results you want. He then injects the product into the desired areas using a needle. Juvéderm® Volbella XC is formulated with a topical anesthetic to help numb the area and increase your comfort. After the injection, Dr. Caniglia may massage the area to ensure that the product is in the exact location desired. Because Juvéderm® Volbella XC is a very spreadable gel, Dr. Caniglia is able to exercise precise control over its placement to get the best results. After the injection, you will be able to resume your normal activities as soon as you want, although we recommend that you take it easy for the first 24 hours.
