Latisse

Latisse Scottsdale

Many women like the look of long, full eyelashes. This is why mascara is such a popular cosmetic. However, for some, even mascara isn’t enough to give them the lashes they want. For those who want longer, fuller, darker lashes, Latisse is an option. To learn more or to book an appointment, contact our Scottsdale facility today.

Latisse

Latisse is a prescription medication that’s FDA-approved for creating longer, thicker, and darker eyelashes. It’s a liquid that’s applied each night to the upper eyelid, at the lash line. You’ll need to use the medication for about two months to get the full effect. You may be able to decrease the frequency of application (for example, every other night instead of every night), but if you stop using Latisse completely, then your eyelashes will gradually return to their old appearance.

Latisse Benefits

The benefits of using Latisse include:

  • Longer, thicker, darker eyelashes
  • FDA-approved treatment
  • Convenient once-a-day application
  • Boosts confidence

Latisse Side Effects

Although Latisse does increase eyelash growth, it has some potential side effects. Sometimes, Latisse can cause irritation of the eye’s surface, and lead to itchy, red, or dry eyes. If the medication spreads beyond the treatment area, then there may be unwanted hair growth in other areas, as Latisse is believed to stimulate hair growth on any part of the body.

Latisse can sometimes cause a darkening of the skin of the eyelids. This is often reversible when you stop using Latisse, but it may not always fully reverse. Latisse may also cause increased brown pigmentation of the iris, or the colored part of the eye. This is believed to be permanent, although it’s extremely uncommon.
